These are book cover designs for renowned Australian publications Breath by Tim Winton and Eucalyptus by Murray Bail. The brief was
to design them in typical book sleeve fashion and as part of the same series. Both stories explore themes of adolesence, self-discovery and a relationship with nature.
I chose to focus on the relationship with nature; how it was a contextual focal point and its prevalence it both stories from start
to finish (the ocean in Breath and the Australian bush in Eucalyptus). Drawing cues from vintage book covers the choice of typography;
the imagery and colour aimed to accentuate this theme.
