Karunguni Supply Company
Capstone Project, Branding2019
Karunguni translates to “gunny sack” in Malay and refers to the local rag and bone men of Singapore who collect, repair and repurpose
just about anything from stacks of old newspapers to broken televisions to second-hand clothing. The karunguni man would
go from neighbourhood to neighbourhood, collecting used and/or
faulty goods at a low cost, sometimes fix them up, before reselling them at nominal profit. Anything that he can’t fix is sent and sold
to warehouses that specialise in recycling and reusing said items.
Inspired by the karunguni, Karunguni Supply Company aims
to cultivate a culture of sustainability through vintage fashion and collectables. The brand itself has been in operation since 2018.

Karuguni Supply Company x The Good Good
The Good Good (TGG) is a consultancy aiming to educate and cultivate sustainability within the streetwear community. It’s an intiative and also the Capstone project of Vanessa Han, fellow
creative and friend.
This collaboration sees TGG partnering up with KSC to produce
a repurposed t-shirt and a set of patches to encourage repurposing and the longevity of clothing.
